things i did this summer

Monday, November 6th, 2006

Since I moved to Brighton 4 years ago, I have been wanting to learn and develop specific hobbies.

  1. hand drumming
  2. dinghy sailing, and
  3. open canoeing

hand drumming, well, the first one should have been easy considering I have a djembe already, and I have never played it in a group. considering how many workshops there are in Brighton we are lucky to have the skills and talent in Brighton, however the days/dates always seemed to clash.. finally tonight I have been to my first class > west african hand drumming by Batafon Arts.. fantastic, and i can still use my hands to type after nearly two and a half hours.. in the beautiful unitarian church.

Getting Freelance Web Work

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

The latest web site to be added to various quality portals is “programmer meet designer”.

http://programmermeetdesigner.com/

PMD helps programmers and designers partner up to make websites and web applications that look and work great.

We shall see if its any good in a few weeks after scanning the quality of leads. I dont tend to get much work from sites like these, but the user interface is clear and I think it may attract the more discerning and skilled developer/designer/programmer.

One way of judging this is by the price of the jobs, there doesnt seem to be many “myspace clone for $200″ deals here
