Web Design and Development Conferences in 2007
Posted: 7 February 2007As you will see from my upcoming.org account, there’s a fine list of events this year I’m either attending or watching.
WebDD > Already attended. In my home town of Reading.
The second year for this event from Carson Summits. What looks like to be a fun filled business, news/media and technology 2 day conference. Some fantastic speakers, some of who I saw last year at @Media2006.
A first for the Scottish Web community – This inaugural Highland Fling conference will cover the topic of progressive enhancement. Two of Brighton’s own regular speakers, Jeremy Keith and Andy Budd address the the subjects of Ajax and CSS3 respectively.
The second Carson event I will be going to this year, a one day event, a bargain price and some great seminar subjects.. Design, CSS, usability.. nice :)
As I’m going to two Carson events, I will not go to @Media 2007 (well, not at the moment), I will leave the summer free and then attend:
D.Construct 07 (last years event)
I caught the pre party in Brighton last year, but had holiday booked on the day of the event. The theme is generally based on web applications and predicting how web based technology will be used in the next few years. A great local event for networking at.
This is it for now, however I’d love to go to at least one of the online advertising events in the States this year:
Having listened to the recent .net podcast Paul Boag asked whether there aren’t now too many web conferences around now?
Well my answer is no, because the social part of the events are great fun, and you also get a chance to meet new people and learn something from every event, without a doubt..
Have a great time at this years web conferences, if you are taking your laptop along may I suggest buzzword bingo! (web 2.0 tastic, last years post, but still of merit)..
